Run training method (fitiland)
PACE is setting a stable speed which is a very important part of race. If pace is disturbed constantly then race is affected to great extent. Unstable pace creates great exertion, sometimes an athlete has to stop in-between the race due to variable pace, so proper pace is very important during races. In this method, the stable pace or constant speed is maintained through various ways like continuous feedback by coach during running like coach calls runner to "speed up more or slow down"; sometimes the time 'is announced by coach to the runner so that athlete can cover a certain distance in a certain time. Even certain check marks are placed to adjust his speed. Sometimes, the helper runners are used to guide pacing at different points. Nowadays the modern machine called Treadmills (artificial running tracks which roll over the motor machine) are used to provide pacing. In this method, the speed is kept around 60 to 90 per cent of best ability. Distance can vary from 200 to 800 meters. This method develops anaerobic endurance for longer period, thus constant pace can be achieved. It is practiced three to four times in a week.
Run training
- Advantages of Speed Development training method
- It improves the reaction time of athlete, thus athlete takes quick start as race begins.
- Speed training method develops the acceleration ability, thus it helps athlete to reach maximum speed in the beginning.
- It develops the capacity of the athlete to adjust his top speed
- It increases the anaerobic endurance by which athlete maintains his top speed for longer duration.
